An American citizen, who has a standing warrant of arrest in the United States for child molestation, was arrested by local authorities.
Based on initial investigation, the suspect was identified as Francisco C. Loreno Jr., who recently arrived in the country.
The US Embassy immediately coordinated with Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel to monitor the suspect in a hotel facility in Mandaluyong City, where he checked in on October 8.
The intensive surveillance started on October 9, while the PCG coordinated with the Bureau of Immigration to arrest the 48-year-old suspect.
