PNP logs over 9K violators on 1st day of Alert Level 2 in NCR

Police authorities have recorded more than 9,000 quarantine violators during the first day of the de-escalation of Metro Manila’s quarantine status to Alert Level 2, the Philippine National Police said Saturday.

Interviewed at the Laging Handa public briefing, PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said authorities have recorded a total of 9,461 quarantine violators under Alert Level 2 status.

But, Eleazar pointed out the figure is lower than the 9,746 daily average quarantine violations in the past 20 days, or from October 16 to November 4.

“We can say na bahagyang bumaba siya” (the number slightly dropped), Eleazar said.

Eleazar said of the 9,461, 10 percent were curfew violations, which is lower than the 24 percent average curfew violations during the Alert Level 3.

He however took note of the lifting of curfew hours in Metro Manila, except for LGUs implementing curfew for minors.

NCR is under Alert Level 2 from November 5, 2021 until November 21, 2021. —LBG, GMA News
