The Philippine Coast Guard and Bantay Dagat rescued four passengers of a half-submerged motor banca at the vicinity waters of Sombrero Island in Aborlan, Palawan.
In a statement, the PCG said the motor banca departed from Puerto Princesa City to go fishing in the vicinity waters off Seven Lines at around 4 p.m. on November 11.
The boat lost its rudder while underway, causing the passengers to struggle against continuous big waves until the boat gradually submerged.
The rescued individuals were brought to Barangay Tagpait Wharf for further assistance. The boat was also towed for needed repairs.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
