Over 1,200 La Union students affected by Maring receive school supplies from Kapuso Foundation

A total of 1,242 students who were affected by the severe tropical storm Maring in the municipality of Bangar in La Union received school supplies from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, among the beneficiaries were the four grandchildren of Leodovico Leonardo, who has been weaving cloth for a living since he was 13 years old.

Recently, his grandkids’ papers for school got drenched and washed away by water brought by the severe tropical storm Maring. Despite earning just P400 a week, he worked hard to buy them new ones.

Leonardo said it’s important for him to help his grandchildren get quality education.

Under the “Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan” project, they received a complete set of school supplies, hygiene kits, and face masks.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation is still accepting donations through bank deposits, Pay Maya, Cebuana Lhuillier, Shopee, GCash, Zalora, Mega Mart, and Globe Rewards.
