PCG says bad weather left 845 travelers stranded in Bicol

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Friday that 845 passengers, drivers, and cargo helpers were stranded at the Matnog Port in Bicol due to delays in sea travel caused by inclement weather.

In a statement, the PCG added that 88 rolling cargoes were also stranded as of 8 a.m.

According to the PCG District Bicol, the passengers and cargoes were stranded because of delayed sea travel due to the threat of the weather condition.

Light to moderate sea conditions were reported in the region.

According to the early morning forecast by state weather bureau PAGASA, the shear line will continue to affect the northeastern portion of Mindanao while the northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon.

Bicol Region, Caraga, northern Mindanao, eastern and central Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

PAGASA warned of possible flooding or landslides during moderate to heavy with at times intense rains. —LBG, GMA News
