Marcos orders gov’t agencies, LGUs to prepare for Maymay

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has ordered concerned departments and local government units to be prepared to respond quickly as Tropical Depression Maymay affects several areas in Luzon.

According to the Office of the Press Secretary, Marcos is in communication with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which is currently pre-positioning relief goods and family food packs for evacuation facilities in areas that will be hit my the weather disturbance.

The president urged local government units in Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and the extreme northern portion of Quezon, including Polillo Islands, to prepare and be ready for preemptive evacuations.

State weather bureau PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. bulletin that three areas in Luzon are already under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

PAGASA said Maymay maintained its strength while continuously moving westward over the Philippine waters.—LDF, GMA News
