The camp of self-confessed drug dealer Kerwin Espinosa has accused a former jail warden at the Camp Bagong Diwa jail of extortion and other cases of corruption.
According to Emil Sumangil’s report on “24 Oras”, the subject of Espinosa’s complaint is Jail Supt. Michelle Ng Bonto.
“Hiningan siya ng tinatawag na welcome fee duon sa BJMP MMDJ Annex 4, welcome fee ng P1.5 million pesos, then nagnegotiate si Kerwin na ibaba ng P800,000,” Palad said.
There was also mention of rental for the cell and protection money which amounted to P400,000.
He said that he was allegedly pressured and threatened that he would be transferred to Annex 2 of the MMDJ if he did not give anything.
The self-confessed drug lord said he did not want to move in Annex 2 because the facility is supposed to be a security risk.
The camp of the former jail warden denied the allegations of Espinosa.
“Kaya nga po kami’y nagsampa ngayong umaga sa office of the prosecutor ng Makati City ng kasong pagsisinungaling o perjury. Sinamahan pa namin ng libel, sapagkat may paninirang puri,” Atty. Danny Villanueva, lawyer of Ng-Bonto, said.
Based on the document released by the BJMP and Villanueva, the self-confessed drug lord came after Ng-Bonto was transferred to Quezon City jail.
“As early as January 2, 2022, itong si Supt.
—Richa Noriega/NB, GMA Integrated News
