DOH: 528 new COVID-19 cases, active tally at 9,783

A total of 528 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Thursday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

This showed a slight increase from Wednesday’s tally of 418 cases.

Still, this is the sixth straight day with fewer than a thousand cases, according to GMA Integrated News Research.

Meanwhile, the Philippines’ active cases remained below 10,000 on Thursday (9,783 cases).

The country’s nationwide caseload is now 4,157,172, while the recovery tally has climbed to 4,080,908.

The death toll remained at 66,481, marking the ninth straight day of no new recorded deaths.

In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region had the highest number of new cases with 3,213, followed by Calabarzon with 2,264, Central Luzon with 1,781, Western Visayas with 1,070, and Cagayan Valley with 851.

Quezon City recorded the highest number of new cases among cities and provinces in the last 14 days with 790, followed by Cavite with 751, Iloilo with 631, Bulacan with 559, and Laguna with 521.

A total of 6,778 individuals were tested on Wednesday, and 314 testing laboratories submitted data.

COVID-19 bed occupancy rate in the country stood at 18.5% on Wednesday, with 4,727 occupied and 20,825 vacant beds. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
