Award-winning filmmaker and producer Quark Henares joins Lennon Group as Chief of Content & Storytelling

Lennon Group ramps up its creative leadership appointing Emmy-nominated storyteller and Esquire’s Creative of the Year 2022, Quark Henares, as its new Chief of Content & Storytelling.

Quark is a multi-awarded filmmaker known for writing and directing feature films such as Where is The Lie?, Rakenrol, Keka, and the TV5 hit cult series Rakista. He has also executive produced nearly 30 of the country’s most celebrated films, Fan Girl, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, Gaya sa Pelikula, including the Sundance hit Leonor Will Never Die (Independent Spirit Award nominee) and miniseries On The Job for Max (Emmy-nominated, Venice Golden Cup winner). Quark’s works hold a mirror up to Filipino culture, resonate deeply with local audiences, and drive a new era of Filipino storytelling on the global stage.

But beyond filmmaking and producing, Quark is your bona fide hyper-active, multi-talented, culture-forward creative. His personal CV goes: Dad, Strava runner and cyclist, DJ, musician, podcaster, professor, Philippine Star columnist, and Letterboxd contributor. His professional CV reads: Executive Director who ran Globe Telecom’s studio businesses — Globe Studios, ANIMA, Secret Menu — and was the Head of Originals, Philippines, for Amazon MGM Studios. He recently returned from Singapore, where he directed branded series like the reality show Home Run: Singapore and co-founded SAYA, a commercial strategy and operations consultancy.

Today, he adds Lennon Group’s Chief of Content and Storytelling to that multi-faceted list, overseeing the narrative development, production, and supervision of all storylines across campaigns, branded content, initiatives, and partnerships. His appointment heralds the agency’s continued investment in story-driven, HumanKind Creativity that connects brands and causes with audiences in authentic, culturally resonant, and impactful ways.

“Quark is one of the country’s most admired creative leaders. He’s a special kind of talent with the ability to create work that resonates with audiences and shapes culture, and that makes him the very best for this role,” says Raymund Sison, Founder and CEO of Lennon Group. “And with his experience in film, streaming, and content, we’re excited to see how his creative leadership will impact the work we do for our brands, partners, and community.”

“I have nothing but love and respect for Kim, Raymund, Rizza, and the Lennon Group, so I jumped at the opportunity to join such brilliant and wonderful people,” said Quark. “Also, with the world becoming what it is, I just want to work with decent people dedicated to making a difference, and that’s what Lennon is.”
